Two top New Jersey Democrats delivered a scorching attack on President Donald Trump and Washington Republicans in a bid to fire up women and get them to help Joe Biden capture votes in battleground states in advance of the November 3 general election.

Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing) were among a group of Democratic women who participated in an online training session that recruited over 450 volunteers today to make phone calls for Biden in swing states.

“I don’t want Donald Trump to think that he has 30 more seconds as a pretend President of the United States of America.  He needs to go.  He needs to take his entire troops with him,” Watson Coleman said.  “He has been vile. He has been evil.  He has been mean.  He has been vicious.  He has been nasty, disrespectful and incompetent.  We can make sure he is also out of the White House.”

Oliver and Watson Coleman both said they are spending time campaigning for Biden and Democrats on virtual meetings in other states.

The Lt. Governor said she spoke to officials in Colorado and Tennessee this weekend, and Watson Coleman reported that she spent part of this morning speaking with a church congregation in South Carolina.

“Joe Biden is the man for us.  He is definitely the man for us,” Oliver said. “He knows us.”

Oliver made a pitch for Democrats seeking to oust Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham.

“If you can send $1 to Amy McGrath, please send that dollar to Amy.  Mitch McConnell has been a disgrace.  He is in the book of a demon and a devil with me,” Oliver said.  “Jaime (Harrison) in South Carolina is neck-in-neck with that lying Lindsey Graham.  If I weren’t on this call with so many people, I’d use another word to describe him.”

Watson Coleman made a specific pitch to oust Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis), who switched parties late last year, in New Jersey’s 2nd district.

“Go down there and reclaim that second seat that Van Drew has disrespected us in,” she said. “Support Amy Kennedy and show Van Drew what we think of him.”

Kennedy was on the call sponsored by New Jersey Women for Biden, along with First Lady Tammy Murphy, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair), Senate President Pro-Tempore Teresa Ruiz (D-Newark), and Assembly Community Development and Affairs Committee Chair Shavonda E. Sumter (D-Paterson).

Oliver said that if Democrats win the White House and the Senate this fall, her party should retaliate against the GOP for rushing to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s U.S. Supreme Court seat before the upcoming presidential election.

“We can set them off and avert them at every turn.  They will never see a piece of legislation that has a Republican’s name on it.  We have to go for the jugular,” Oliver said.  “No more Mr. Nice Guy.  Let’s go for the jugular.  Let’s put a foot up their behinds.”
