RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHER / HISTORIAN TO PRESENT SLIDE-SHOW LECTURE ON WEDNESDAY AT ESSEX COUNTYCOURTHOUSE AS ‘LEAD-UP’ TO NEWARK’S LINCOLN BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION TOWN HALL

Deborah Willis, eminent photographer and photography historian, will present a slide-show lecture on Wednesday, October 28, entitled Lincoln as Monument, Lincoln as Icon and discuss perceptions of Lincoln through art and photography in communities from 1870 to present.

The event is billed as a ‘lead-up’ to Newark’s participation in a National Town Hall with the theme The Humane City: Race, Ethnicity, and Freedom in Urban America on Thursday, November 12, at the Newark Museum.

Another feature of the evening will be docent-led tours of the historic courthouse.  A reception will follow the lecture.
