Newark New Media 2010, the third season of cWOW's artist residency and apprenticeship program at the cutting edge of digital technology and contemporary art, premieres Thursday, June 17, 2010, 4-6 p.m. with a screening and public reception in Prudential Center’s Verizon Tower. When the Newark St. Patrick’s Day parade got started in 1936, it was the only St. Patrick’s Day parade in the state. Seventy-five years later, even though there are now over twenty parades held throughout the month of March from Sussex County to Cape May County, the Irish are still marching in Newark.
An original multi-media dance performance of Zero Point Zero, a lively Centennial Conversation, and an after-hours Night in Rio, are among the Newark Museum highlight events not to be missed in March.
Deborah Willis, eminent photographer and photography historian, will present a slide-show lecture on Wednesday, October 28, entitled Lincoln as Monument, Lincoln as Icon and discuss perceptions of Lincoln through art and photography in communities from 1870 to present.
